Get to know June…
June Lizotte is a mixed media artist who has spent nearly the last two decades pursuing her career. Raised in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains in New York, June was always dreaming of a creative life and became enthralled with creative experiences while cloud gazing, dreaming and watching her mother excel in creativity even though she was very busy with 4 kids. Art inspired June all through her high school years. Through a series of experiences that led to pulling out the art supplies after starting a family, June followed her heart and began painting prolifically, even selling her art much to her delight. June’s inspiration seemed to be what was born out of the heavens and due to the nature of her art, she was invited to paint in church services, as a form of worship.
From cloud gazing and dreaming of creativity as a child, to this art life becoming a reality, June has followed her dream to be a professional artist with impact. June began receiving invitations to teach others about inspired art. June’s art journey led her to developing a curriculum to share her insights about connecting with Heaven to encourage others through painting. Since 2009 June has been sharing this teaching in the U.S. and on a couple occasions, abroad. June tells people “Art is a bridge to the heart!” which became a truth from her personal experiences over many years.
Although June was largely self-taught well into adulthood, and had this kind of success, she had a long-standing desire to invest in herself and pursue a formal art education. June’s goal was met when she completed Mastery Program Studies at Milan Art Institute.
June describes her unique style as Abstract Realism infused with prayer. While focusing on color, line, space and texture she finds joy in offering a nod toward realism in her mixed media application. Her visionary approach brings both beauty and mystery to the canvas for a viewer’s discovery. June captures her dreams and impressions, as well as those of her collectors. With layers of inspiration, the thoughtful compilations of color and imagery are developed using inks, fluid acrylics, pastels, spray paint, her hand-made collage papers, oils and more.
June’s studio is her favorite place to be, especially if her husband is tying his fishing flies on the other end of the shared studio space. Her husband, Mark has been supportive and inspiring with all of June’s dreams. He even built her first studio in their first home in the mid 1980’s, indulged her love and desire for a horse, farm animals and country living as well as supported her travels to teach prophetic art seminars. June especially loves life with Mark now that he has retired, giving them much more freedom for adventure. They share a love of fishing, bird watching, travel, checking out new types of food and spending quality time with their son, daugter-in-law and 4 amazing grandchildren. Juma, their dog is always by their side, cheering them on like a mascot with her fun antics.
June says the future is bright with plans to grow her business, start a blog and and make content that focuses on sharing inspirational stories of the many meaningful encounters she has had related to her inspired art and the amazing emotional responses of her collectors.
