Eternal Determination
This powerful mixed-media portrait, titled “Eternal Determination” captures the enduring spirit of the cowgirl. With a profile gaze fixed on the horizon, the subject embodies fierce determination and unwavering resolve.
As an artist, I draw my inspiration from a Hebrew scripture-specifically the passage which declares, “The Lord God helps me; therefore I have not been disgaced; I have set my face hard like a flint., and I know I will not be put to shame.” This profound source of strength anchors the portrait, connecting the Western figure’s grit to a higher spiritual conviction.
Layers of abstract collage, bold mark-making, and rich color (the signature style of June Lizotte) form the backfrop where the ghost of a horse emerges, symbolizing an eternal and unbreakable bond. The piece is a celebration of spiritual strength, freedom and the fierce, flint-like determination required to ride the long, unpredictable trail of life.
This wonderful Hebrew scripture takes us through times of trouble or worry with the promise of Heavenly help. If we have Heavenly Help for all our troubles we can have confident and eternal determination.
This 12×12 mixed media and oil original is on a gallery wrapped canvas and is ready to hang. Please contact me through the site if you wish to purchase.
